FUEL the Movie, A Brief Overview
At the UN’s IREO Renewable Energy Awards, film director and writer Josh Tickell had been appointed UN Goodwill Ambassador to receive awards for his work. For what basis? For one, for the film, he directed “FUEL”. The film won the Grand Prize in Best Documentary at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival and is presently being screened on many streaming sites.

If you want an engaging summary of the chaos associated with addiction to fossil, FUEL is highly recommended. This is very personal for Tickell who grew up in Louisiana and saw petrochemical pollution in most of his growing years. And if there is a way for us to kick fossil fuel habits, the FUEL should be high in the list of movies to watch.
The actions of the Bush administration are drawing the country to Iraq with the intention of energy security. Early enthusiasm for biofuel (Tickell had been an early supporter of vegetable oil biodiesel and can see a few of his quests in the field) and the recognition that only some biofuels are ecologically or socially very good, how can a balanced, diversified renewable energy package move forward for the economy and the environment?
